Great pugs in history

I was doing some reading in preparation for my upcoming trip, learning about the storied past of Rome, when I came across a startling historical tidbit. Did you know that Romulus and Remus, the twins thought to have founded the city some 2,700 years ago, were suckled by a she-pug?

I stand in awe of the pug, the myth and the legend. Thanks for visiting and introducing me to your exalted blog. I would have gone more deeply into the archives today, but I'm laughing so hard I can't see. That is, laughing with deep reverence, of coursse.

I apologize for the time it took for my lazy mom to finally add you to my links, but you are now featured there.

Pugs were chosen for greatness from the very beginning.

Welcome to the congregation, Jan. The archives are always available for your perusal.

No need to apologize, Joe. I still have not gotten around to putting up all the links that I want to. But I will ... someday.

Some who would try to deceive us have spread rumors of a she-wolf, Kaluah-lu. But the sculpture is clearly not of a she-wolf.

You could be right, Anonymous One.

More proof that the Great Oppressors have been hiding things from us for years. This tops the Great Deceptions surrounding Lassie's true gender.

Wow, you truely learn something new everyday. I never before realized that pugs were already out of China that long ago. Remarkable!

You are a wise one oh Ayatollah.

Oh, man! Mama says she's seen it all now. From singing with the Dixie Licks to HUGH PUGH to Romulus and Remus - your mind is a mysterious thing, Bro. Mugsy. It's almost scary, you know what I mean?

I had no idea that Romulus and Remus were actually little people! Well...either that or that she-pug is incredibly HUGE! That's one she-pug not to [expetive here] with!
