Mark your calendars

It is official: The Pug Life Telethon will be Aug. 3, 2007. That is one week from Friday. I hope you will join me for a daylong extravaganza featuring entertainment, celebrity guest stars and impassioned fundraising. I am in negotiations with Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to hold the telethon in Texas Stadium, where it is said that the hole in the roof allows Allah to look down upon the playing field. I believe this will be a fitting venue for such a significant milestone in canine culture, and the stadium will accommodate a respectable crowd of 65,000 congregants. I know, I know. That will leave many of you on the outside looking in. But take comfort in the knowledge that should you be unable to procure one of the $350 tickets, you will be able to turn to this blog for updates.

MY master? Do we get any goodies for donating to the ministry? Kinda like the PBS telethon?

Yes, anyone donating $100 or more will receive an official game-worn canine Sooners jersey. It will even have ayatollah fur on it.

I'm going to have to give second thoughts to donating during the telethon, Mugsy. That Jerry Jones and Cowboys Stadium in general give me the creeps (unless of course we're there watching the Eagles win).

My mother actually visited Lincoln Financial Field yesterday and made her own donation at the Pro Shop in exchange for more Eagles loot to import to Texas. Now THAT is a place deserving of a holy pilgrimage.

She also told me about meeting a pug named Kramer in Ocean City, NJ on the beach. Apparently there are potential flock members for you everywhere!
