You win some, you lose some

After appealing for your ballot-stuffing help a couple of weeks ago, I have been remiss in not officially announcing the results of Dogmark's Cool Dog of the Month contest. Thanks to your help and the guiding paw of almighty Allah, we have triumphed. To those of you who voted: Thank you for your support. This win nearly restored my faith in democracy.*

* Though I do still think it would be best for Pugistan to be a theocratic dictatorship.

Although this blog was victorious in the Dogmark contest, it did not fare so well in another arena. A few months ago, I submitted The Ayatollah's Teachings for review by Frogmyblog.com. It has come to my attention that the review is in, and it is not pretty. As you will see, the teacher (that would be me) received a failing grade. My biggest sin? Lack of originality.

According to the reviewer, I am just the latest pug to jump into the "pet blogging fad." And all this time, I thought human blogging was a bigger trend. This negative review has wounded me to my very core. Can I continue? Can I go on teaching, knowing that I am an "F" student? Frankly, I do not know. I will have to pray on it.

"OK my personal - and let me state again PERSONAL - thought is this! Please people please please !! Stop the pet blog craze! Ok sure, it can be cute no doubt. But as an animal lover, and someome whos done animal rescue all her life, STOP THE INSANITY!! Don’t get me wrong, I love my dog too; she is a beloved member of my family, but I must accept my dog can not talk, nor read, nor type me her daily thoughts about me. As well, the pet blogging fad seriously can be so demoralizing to your pet- the only ones that should be allowed to blog a pets thoughts is someone who reads pet minds and knows the exact thoughts. Otherwise, you could have it all wrong and wind up spending tons of money on a huge team of psychiatrists for you pet… just to learn the new narcotic behavior is caused by the fact that your pet’s annoyed at you for writing some very personal things about them without their approval!"

Okay this is WHY I LOATHE animal rights people. They can't take a joke and they think they know how to care for an animal better than ANYONE ELSE.

My story is this - I adopted my first dog from PAWS and after 5 years of behavior modification, 3 rounds to the ER due to dog bites and 10 stitches later - I had to put the dog down . HE WAS A DANGER TO SOCIETY. What did PAWS do? They called me up two hours after making the hardest decision ever and SCREAMED at me for putting him down because they were a no kill shelter. Flash forward to now and I found out that I have been put on a "do not adopt" shelter list without my knowledge and it has been posted all over the net! Believe you me my past dog was treated like fricken royalty -so I don't understand where these people get off.

Honestly, Ayatollah, that reviewer has a teeny tiny frog brain.

Those of us a little higher on the food chain give you 5 ladybugs.

Oh Great Ayatollah! I Sachi, am a big fan of your blog. Alas,
You've been tagged!

The Rules: The player of this game starts with "3 things he/ she would love to get for Christmas" and also has to list "3 things he/ she definitely does not want to get for Christmas". Then he/she tags 5 friends and list their names. The ones who get tagged need to write on their blogs about their Christmas wishes, as well as state this rule clearly, then tag 5 more victims. And the one who tags need to leave a comment that says "you've been Christmas tagged!" in their comments and tell them to read your blog.

Hey Great One,
Well I guess one mystery is solved. Salman Rushdie now writes for frogmyblog.com. I could not read the review, but I don't need to see heresy to know heresy. Deal with him accordingly. On another note, what is nutty "anonymous" talking about? Just because her animal doesn't know how to blog doesn't mean none of us do. My sympathies that she cannot merely enjoy a good thing.

I give the insane frogger one point out of zero for layout, and zero out of zero for content. He (or she) just doesn't get it. I'm not impressed.

Ayatollah's website rocks (in a spiritual way, of course)!!!

Well, I give your blog an "A" for originality!

Ouch. I guess they were looking for another trendy hipster doofus blog with prose cribbed from Seinfeld and Gilmore Girlz. There seems to be an axe they wanted to grind involved here.

Oops, I mean 1 out of 10 and 0 out of 10. My mom can't add (how embarrassing!)
