Garage sale: Packing it in

Another infidel driveby! We can take no more, my flock. We are dragging our five items of actual value back into the garage. Any who drive by for the rest of the day will find a driveway full of free items. Please, take it. Take it all ...

This has been Ayatollah Mugsy, bringing you a historic live blogging event. Until next time, you stay classy, Pugistan.

Hi Mugsy! We would highly recommend freecycle.org. We're sure there is a group in your area. Post what you want to unload (for free) and someone will come get it. It reaches far more than the handful of people who just happen to drive by your garage sale. And it's good for the environment. Hope that helps. Yours respectfully, Gus, Milo, & Ellie the pugs.
ps: We are looking forward to Pugistan. We are happy you are not exclusive in your religious requirements as we are good Unitarian Universalist pugs and believe in an open heart and an open mind in our spiritual journeys. (Though for us, it only takes a good raw-hide chew to experience the Devine!) :)

Thank you, my furry friends. I posted an ad online to get rid of the large items (so we would not have to haul them back inside), and most are now gone.

This was indeed an historic day with the live blog!! Doesn't it feel nice to be free of some of the "stuff" that clutters our lives? Glad you made a little cash and did some good for someone.

Wish you and Wendell could have been in OK today for the tax free shopping. The mall was wild, but it would have been a good spot for you to recruit new members. Jake's mom

When you say a "little" cash, Rabbi Jake, you bark the truth.

I found a pug puppy at PetSmart today to recruit to the cause, so it all worked out fine.

What is with these Texans??? They by-pass the opportunity to purchase The Ayatollah's treasures on the cheap???
Perhaps you should move to Indianapolis. Our garage sale dwellers will buy ANYTHING....even stuff you would pay them to take.

I hate doing garage sales. I always end up spending more money on posters, sodas, lunch, stickers, etc...than I ever do selling anything. I have just gotten to where I give everything to goodwill. Maybe I'm just lazy.

If you had the harem out there... we would have gotten some goods sold. WORK IT LADIES!

So, did you reach your goal of $1million?

I don't know, Sarah S. Although we later discovered that one of our signs had been stolen -- perhaps by a rival garage sale. So this may have limited traffic somewhat.

We had forgotten why we hate garage sales, Nevis, but this reminded us.

And you as well, Lucy.

The harem dogs grow lazy in the summertime, Anonymous One.

Not yet, Ippo. Not yet ...

Garage sales can be brutal, I once had some ladies walk up and buy a few things, and go down the street to their yard sale and sell them for more, those nasty little cheats.
