Back in action

You may have noticed that Wendell's Olympic coverage abruptly ended. He did not fill you in on Eagle the pug's historic three gold medals in dog-paddling. Nor did he tell you about the Pugistani basketball team's embarrassing defeat against the U.S., brought about by our team's lack of size after our lone Great Dane got into foul trouble. As it turns out, young Wendell got too involved in partying at the Olympic village, and he completely forgot to post on the blog. This confirmed my long-held belief that Wendell suffers from attention-deficit disorder. The ministry apologizes for any inconvenience, and we will certainly be more cautious in the future about assigning such an important task to a puppy.

The ayatollah family recently returned from a trip to the beautiful city of San Francisco, where I addressed a convention of sea lion imams. As you may recall, hundreds of the marine mammals pledged their allegiance to Pug Life Ministries late last year. Since then, I have stayed in contact with the sea lions, offering them spiritual guidance and strengthening our alliance. We bark the same language, so it is only natural that we help each other out. God willing, the sea lions will govern the western province of Pugistan in short order.

I'm glad you're back. I hope Ramadan is going well for you and yours.

Thank you, Joe ... Ramadan is difficult for a pug. Thankfully, I awoke just before sunrise to load up on Iams.

Now, Ayatollah...let's not be too hasty in labeling Wendell with ADD. Perhaps his condition can simply be chalked up to youth.

Whatever the case, I'm sure you will keep him in line

Im glad you're back. I was in the fringe of falling off the wagon without your spiritual guidance. Perhaps Young wendell has become too westernized ....

But don't the sea lions have a terrible accent?

What did you guys do in SF? I wish I knew you all were here, I could have pointed you to some spots... I was walking at Pier 39 with a girlfriend once and we saw a cat run by. She asked me if I thought the cat was scared by the sea lions barking because they sound like dogs. She was cute though...

You're too funny for a pug.
How's the fasting going?
Are you cleansed yet?

I don't know, Sarah S. I was a puppy once, but I was never as scatter-brained as Wendell. But I don't hold this against him; it's part of his charm.

Stay on the wagon at all costs, Z.

I find their accents quite pleasing, Quasi. But perhaps it's a matter of personal taste.

We did many things in San Francisco, Lucy -- SFMOMA, Legion of Honor, Coit Tower, Chinatown, Italian food in North Beach, a bay cruise, a movie at the Metreon, a Tibetan song-and-dance at Union Square, Golden Gate Park, a day at the beach when the temperature rose. Wendell briefly went on a bender in Haight-Ashbury, but I was able to drag him away.

Thank you, Nevis. We missed you, as well.

This is the only time of year when I begin to question my faith, Ippo.
