When in Rome ...

I am typing this as I wait for the maids to finish cleaning my hotel room. I pray that the rawhide residue will not prove too difficult to remove from the sheets. I have seen all kinds of wondrous sights in Rome, so many that I am contemplating moving the ministry. Is it possible to get by in Rome when all you know how to say is "gratzie"? It appears so.

I visited a church that uses the bones of more than 4,000 Capuchin monks for decorations. Pieces of bone cover the walls and ceilings in ornate patterns. Even the chandeliers are made of bones. I briefly contemplated incorporating something similar into the Dogloo Cathedral, but the pope made a good argument to the contrary: The parishioners might chew up all of our decorations.

Mugsy, how could you restrain yourself among all those bones? You must have amazing will power! Good to hear from you on your travels!

Eat at Ristorante Der Pallaro, 15 Largo Pallaro. Head south from Piazza Novona, cross Corso Vittorio Emmanuel, and go to the right of the big church--whatever it's called. Great homestyle, fixed price menu, and very reasonable. Like eating in someone's kitchen.

you must eat lots of pasta

Hey Bro. Mugsy,

Good to hear from you, man! Mama said she thought she saw you on TV today arriving for the big TomKat wedding; if it wasn't you it was somebody else in a baby duck outfit.

Not much going on around here except the weather has been awfully unstable and now it's kinda' cold...oh, and Mama has a herniated disc. Bummer!

Mama washed my Martha Stewart baby blankets today and Dad lit the heater in the greenhouse - winter must be upon us the way everybody is behaving.

We all miss you, Bro. Mugsy.

So, how was TomKat's wedding? Do tell us all the details!

What a wonderous site to behold, Mugsy in one of the most important centers of religion.

BTW, the Sooners beat Baylor, 36-10.

It was tough, T-Man. Thankfully, I had the gelato to get me through.

Yes, Moe, I had a wonderful time. I'll have to wade through my pictures and pick out some good ones.

I missed it this time, Pappy's Fella. But I did toss a coin into the Trevi Fountain, so perhaps I will get to eat there next time. Thank you for the suggestion.

I did all of the above, Chelsea. Well, the moustache is more whitish-gray, but it's nothing some Just for Pugs gel can't fix.

Tell your mother to take it easy and do what the doctor says, James Beauregard. My family has experience with back problems. Hopefully hers will clear up with some rest.

The wedding was great, Sarah O., aside from that disgustingly long and awkward kiss. It brought back memories of Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley.

Thank you for the score update, Boomer! The Italians don't seem too interested in U.S. football, so I was in the dark. But I did read on the plane that Texas lost while I was away, so the Sooners still have a shot at the Big 12 title. Praise Allah!

I am anxiously awaiting the turkey, Rabbi Jake. I think we have a good plan spreading the Thanksgiving feasts over several days.
