Do not make me issue a fatwa ...

I am watching "The National Dog Show" on NBC, and frankly, I am appalled. Several of the human contestants are picking up their dogs by the tail and leash (ie, the throat). This is no way to pick up a canine. I expect to see some proper support given for these worthy contestants. Get a hand under the body -- there are more important things in life than maintaining those ridiculous fur-dos.

It is appalling, I agree. If you issue a fatwa, I'll be happy to help you enforce it (with my sharp teeth!)

I noticed that as well. It seems to be a common practice among these dog handlers. And the way those judges feel around everywhere on those show dogs--it must be a bit embarrassing for the dog.

The humans ruin the dog show for me. I just hope no children are watching and get the wrong idea of how to carry a doggie.

After Triumph the Insult Comic Dog's expose on Westminster, nothing surprises me anymore.

I was very disappointed that the Airedale only came in a paltry 4th in the terrier group... it must be a conspiracy.

To make matters worse, the judges do the doggie strangle lift right after they squeeze the boy parts.

Dog show judges are different from you and me.

Ayatollah,
I have come to love your teachings, and I wish to reinforce you the Seattle branch of Pug Life Ministries. In the name of full disclosure: I am an avid Longhorns fan and I would curse Bob Stoops...if I ever really had to worry about him winning the Red River War. That said, my blog should provide my bonafides.

Welcome to the ministry, Winston. Some of my good friends are Longhorns. But you are young; I suspect that you will eventually come around.
