Hoops contest update

I have received some questions and comments on the Pug Life Ministries NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Bracket Challenge "Take On the Ayatollah" Contest™, so I want to briefly touch on a few points.

Someone asked whether this violated canine Islam's prohibition against gambling (which is not to be confused with prudent casino investing). This contest is not the same as those illegal underground office betting pools you may have heard about. It is free to enter this contest, so you are wagering nothing. We are simply playing for fun, and perhaps, God willing, a prize or two.

It was also pointed out to me that ESPN.com has been rather buggy lately, and sometimes clicking on the contest entry link results in an error message. I urge the infidels at ESPN to get this fixed promptly, lest they risk incurring my eternal wrath. If you have encountered this problem, I urge you to try again later.

Finally, my little brother Wendell is, indeed, filling out a bracket. I suspect he will be a natural when it comes to picking basketball games. With his long limbs and slender build, Wendell bears a striking resemblance to former UNLV and NBA star Stacey Augmon, a.k.a. the Plastic Man.

STUPID ESPN. Seriously if they didn't have Shaun White on it's maagazine cover I would have dropped kick this bracket situation a long TIME AGO.

Hey Bro. Mugsy...and you, too, Wendell.

I don't play basketball - I'm more into golf, I guess you could say. M'Dad plays several times a week - one would assume he'd be good by now but nothing to write home about. All he ever wants as far as presents are gift certificates to Edwin Watts and all he ever buys is golf balls. I guess that pretty much explains his skill level.

I hope you guys have a lovely weekend. M'human sister is coming home for a few days...Mama won't know I'm alive. Maybe I'll turn on the TV and watch a little basketball. I have my own soccer ball and a drawer full of tennis balls but I don't own a basketball.

Dearest Ayatollah:

This has nothing to do with basketball, but I just noticed your zodiac sign is Aries. That tells me you have a birthday coming up! When's the big day?

Excellent, Z. I'm glad I was able to assuage your concerns.

Nan and Aine, take a deep breath ...

It's good to hear from you, J.B. I've never heard of a golfing pug before. I guess that just shows the versatility of the breed.

I will be 7 years old on April 3, Sarah.
